since 1972, mary moody northen theatre (mmnt) has stood at the center of the st. edward's university professional theater training program, providing opportunities for students to work side-by-side with practicing professional theater artists and producing work designed to inspire artists and audiences alike.
mmnt is one of the few undergraduate theaters in the country operating in association with actors’ equity association, providing student actors and stage managers the ability to earn points toward professional union membership, and challenging them to work at the highest professional level. come share in the fun and excitement of theatre on the hilltop.

inspired by friedrich durrenmatt’s 1956 tragicomedy the visit, maypearl explores themes of greed, revenge, political freedom and social justice in a small texas town. a darkly comic story for our times. this world premiere is mmnt’s first commission in 15 years, developed by our students in collaboration with the playwright. stay tuned for physically distanced performance details.
